and in Washington, DC. I'd hoped to have one of several posts ready with much more than this...but people have not answered their emails with permissions. Ferrara is a lovely Renaissance town though I don't profess much familiarity with it. I just read that it is a UNESCO heritage site. Very nice. With that, I better shut things down as the rain is now much, much more than background noise. Time to put the kettle on. Cheers. (Ferrara::1 by MisterKey via deviantArt)

reminds me of a walk I did in Paris on a rainy evening
Ferrara is also the city of Giorgio Bassani and the setting of his marvelous novel Il Giardino dei Finzi Contini......
Simon--isn't it nice? I mean if one knows that there's a dry place waiting & it's not mandatory to be out? I love walking in the rain w/big umbrella. But like the hothouse flower my mother claims I am (grrr), the conditions have to be just right. Or is that the Goldilocks Theory:)
Mary-Laure--I cannot pull one over on you for a second. I wish you'd be my editor! Now, I'll put in the label for a writing project that I left off. Amazing. I think we need to get you on to Jeopardy & win a million dollars. (I'm not kidding.)
xo
I love dark and stormy nights, Susan. So very romantic!
