Christmastime in Strasbourg--in all of Alsace--is gorgeous...best Christmas market in Europe. Absolutely. Also, tarte flambée (flammekueche in Alsatian), vin chaud, & the best of French & German cookies, pies, cakes, etc. I'll be taking flammekueche lessons from a friend's mother who is visiting the States for the holidays. Will try to remember photographs. Here's a little GG post with at least one photo credit.

Hey Susan
This looks like a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit.. which I am still trying to find..slowyly!! The flammekueche sounds pretty good right now!
Still love that image of Santa Baby!! xx Julie
Beautiful ariel photos! i would love to shop at that market. Great post.
Theresa...you would love it. I did not appreciate it as much as I ought to have when I lived there. Of course, right?
Julie...You are so right. I didn't think of it that way last night (it's Monday as I type this), but I'm running behind too. Not enough in the mood & I want to be. Odd. I'm forcing the issue today with a trip to get rest of decorating stuff, playing Xmas CD I made, & of course by yelling "JULIE!" at Santa Baby-cat. She's flying through the air from a tall bookcase over (a long way!) to the dining table. Repeatedly. I took everything off to put on the holiday tablecloth & this has provided her with an unrestricted landing area. She is driving me crazy. xo
