The Nereid of the Seashore

That would be AKTAIE in ancient Greek. This is where I'd like to be this morning. Alas, I will be out in 90+ degree heat attending to other, non-marine, matters. [image from liquid sunny day/deviantART via we heart it]

Friday Update: I'll be back with some pix before midnight. Have received emails asking about Julie. The asthma is pretty bad; the meds are worse; the cost for everything is..well, I'm gonna have to write a disgusting (true) memoir about my family or something. You know, sell out to make money for the bills. I'm serious. J. now hates me & is fighting the medications. She was uncharacteristically freaked out by the trip there & back. Usually, she's like a dog, eager to take a ride, especially with her pal Maria Caterina who took us there (no taxi necessary, it turns out thank goodness). Thanks to MCat for putting up with huge drama yesterday.

I talked to my family on the coast yesterday and they must have forgotten to mention the weather. Maybe it wasn't that hot in Jersey. Not so far from you, though...if you're still in the same place. (I never like to say where anyone is, really.)Your Cinnamon Girl is beautiful. Tell her she is loved from afar.

Well, it was 90 in NYC, 91 in Newark. Rest of Jersey I don't know but it was hot, pretty sure. Maybe your family is particularly stoic. Cooling down later tonight/tomorrow.

Julie will swoon when I tell her what you said, Catherine. She's going to the vet today (but she likes to go:)...I'm the one who is worried.

Thanks Julie. It is so pretty...I've had it on hand for a really long time, it seems. And I am longing to be at the sea...which is really not far but beyond my reach for some time now.

Poor, Julie and you too. Kitty doesn't understand that mama is Just Trying to Help! I would love to read your disgusting family memoir. A girl has to pay the bills somehow. xo Joan@anythinggoeshere

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. But I do love reading juicy family memoirs, and I know yours will be awesome. So write it, get rich, pay your bills, and move to Italy. I need to have someone to visit when I go there.
