...The stony street
Displayed the stillness in which buildings stand,
The street-lamp’s vigil....[Delmore Schwartz][photograph via a blog & I don't want to link it-- too weird. Via we heart it]

Bokeh raindrops on the pavement (for later)
The photo from Blogger-blog, Cinematic Sojourns; it hasn't published in some time & I don't want to mess up my feed. So there's the credit; they didn't credit it at all. I will keep looking.. More than one still photog worked on the Trois Couleurs trilogy.
It's Virginia bluebell time & I'm running behind, as usual. I just saw a WashingtonGardener bluebell peeping post & thought: if George Brett has even one bluebell shot, I'll have to bust up the Jeanne Moreau mini-series.There's one shot, it's lovely, & here it is. (We allow them in DC & Maryland, as well. If they behave. Virginia is a purple-blue state now, you know. Heh heh.) It's raining a bit hard but perhaps later today or tomorrow I'll remember to look down (instead of up at all our blooming trees) at bunches on the way to the market. Last night or early a.m., I thought, must get back to writing-picture-word-collage collection. This fits one of the projects & so bluebells it is...
Models and Queensborough Bridge, New York by William Klein, 1962. Not sure if this was in Vogue but he did some work there. He went to live in Paris a long time ago & is well-known in Europe but not as much here. Went on to make films. Obviously I'm not The Clever Pup; she would have this all worked out & written up beautifully. Via a scan from my 2007 Metropolitan Museum of Art New York, New York desk agenda. The text says this was printed in 1988, so it wouldn't have been in a magazine most likely. I remember liking Klein's photos; there's a lot of distortion, chaos, confusion. Maybe he drank too much coffee, too. My mother wore clothes like this...in fact, she made them quite often (or had someone else do it when she sewed our clothes).
For later, writing project. Another l'heure bleue photograph & as a bonus it includes my window fixation. This is by a terrific guy in Paris, Yannick Vigouroux who has been very helpful with photographs, the color blue, & the French poetry scene. You just never know when you write to someone for permission what will happen. Sometimes, it's just "sure." And that's fine. And then sometimes it's a lot more. I'll be out & about the rest of the week & the computer is edgy. So I'm going to set photos to run through Friday. Just in case. Ciao & thanks, Yannick!
For later. Still working on dual-purpose project. The computer is now distressed about its memory. I'd like to say "it's not my problem, you should see my memory, so just deal with it"...but it is my problem & the idea that I would enter into an existential conversation with a computer is troubling--in so many ways. Additionally, the GG blog still resists 'comment enable' function. Will post images to publish through week, just in case. So if I don't answer comments, that's what's up. I might be able to access email (&/or Facebook page) if all else goes wrong. Thanks to The Clever Pup for her tag & I hope to get to it by tomorrow. So nice of her, really. ciao belle.
Also for use later. By reflets de verts in Strasbourg, France where I used to live.
For later. (photograph from miladus flickrstream)
The hyacinth for constancy wi' its unchanging blue.
Under the threat of high wind gusts & will post later, breaking my "one per day" rule. Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors: Blue/White/Red has been on my mind lately. Particularly Blue & always when marketing or performing other mundane tasks. I flash on Juliette Binoche's character's post-traumatic behavior. I recall that she had a rodent problem in her new apartment. Thankfully, I needn't concern myself with this odious matter as it is part of Julie the Cat's ministerial portfolio. (photograph, imagenet via Guardian's film blog) ciao, bisou
